Got skills? Join Xiaomi’s Photography Challenge

Xiaomi is currently holding its 3rd ShotByMi Photography Challenge, themed “Your Vision, Your Story” providing an opportunity for Mi Fans to capture life’s amazing moments with their Xiaomi smartphones.  

ShotByMi Photography Challenge is an annual mobile photography competition that seeks to inspire creativity through the use of innovative smartphone camera technology. First launched in 2019, the 2020 competition attracted over 81,000 entries from more than 170 countries and regions.

There are two independently themed episodes, each running for two months. The first will be centered around “Colorful Life”, where participants can upload shots that reflect the theme, with no restrictions on the genre of the work. Short videos are also actively encouraged for ShotByMi, providing participants with more creative freedom to capture inspiring visual works. 

This year, ShotByMi Awards influential photographers with expertise in different photography fields, including the creators of Mango Street and the renowned landscape photographer Max Rive. The panel of judges will select outstanding entries from each episode, who will win a series of incredible prizes, including the grand prize of a USD $5,000 creative fund and the latest Xiaomi smartphone models.

Mi users can also participate in the judging and choose their favorite works on the ShotByMi website, where qualified entries will categories  “the most liked photo” and “the most liked video” will win an awesome prize each. Submissions end on 22 May, 2021 and all winners of the first episode will be announced on June 18, 2021.

ShotByMi Awards is supported by a number of other parties, including professional photography equipment brands Manfrotto and Joby and online photographer community 500px. 

Xiaomi encourages Mi Fans to share the beauty of life through their latest camera smartphones.
