KLIMS Run 2026 successfully made its debut in Kuala Lumpur, drawing more than 1,000 participants for what organisers describe as Malaysia’s first automotive themed community run ahead of the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026.
Organised by Malaysian Automotive Association, the inaugural KLIMS Run 2026 was held in conjunction with the KL Car-Free Morning initiative and flagged off from Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.
Participants took part in both 5KM and 7KM race categories as the event combined fitness, lifestyle, mobility, and community engagement under KLIMS 2026’s “Beyond Mobility” theme.
The run marks the first community focused activation introduced under the KLIMS 2026 pre-show campaign, aimed at expanding the automotive exhibition beyond traditional vehicle showcases by incorporating wellness, sustainability, and social impact initiatives.
According to Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain, the strong turnout reflects growing public interest in community driven automotive experiences.
“KLIMS has always been a platform that drives conversations about the future of mobility. Today, with our first-ever community run, the response was overwhelmingly positive,” he said.
He added that mobility today goes beyond transportation and increasingly plays a role in connecting communities, supporting wellbeing, and creating shared lifestyle experiences.
As part of the event’s community outreach efforts, KLIMS 2026 also contributed RM5,000 to PUSPEN Dengkil through collaboration with Selangor Youth Community.
The contribution supports rehabilitation and recovery programmes for individuals undergoing treatment for drug dependency under Malaysia’s National Anti-Drugs Agency.
Participants of KLIMS Run 2026 also received exclusive race kits featuring limited edition event merchandise, finisher medals, drawstring bags, and complimentary tickets to KLIMS 2026. The event additionally featured lucky draw prizes, including a MacBook Neo grand prize.
Following the successful debut of the run, attention now shifts to the main Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026, which will take place from 12 to 21 June 2026 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Now entering its 11th edition, KLIMS 2026 is expected to feature major automotive launches, electric vehicle innovations, future mobility technologies, and interactive showcases from both global and local automotive brands.
The event also reflects the Malaysian automotive industry’s broader push toward sustainable mobility, EV adoption, connected technologies, and lifestyle driven automotive experiences in Southeast Asia.
