Taobao has officially announced the return of its highly anticipated 618 Mid-Year Sale in Malaysia, bringing together major discounts, faster shipping, and new AI-powered shopping tools aimed at helping Malaysians shop smarter amid rising living costs.

Running from 21 May to 21 June 2026 via the Taobao app, the month-long shopping campaign is one of the platform’s biggest annual sales events alongside Double Eleven, offering consumers access to platform-wide discounts, shipping vouchers, and curated trending products across fashion, home living, gadgets, and lifestyle categories.

Consumers can now claim a RMB12 air shipping voucher daily at 12PM on a first-come, first-served basis, with deliveries to selected key cities arriving in as fast as five days.

Beyond discounts, Taobao is also pushing forward its AI-powered shopping experience by integrating Alibaba Group’s Qwen AI technology into the platform.

The new AI shopping assistant, currently being rolled out progressively to Malaysian users on the Chinese-language interface of the Taobao app, is designed to help users throughout the entire shopping journey, from product discovery and comparisons to checkout and after-sales support.

One of the standout features includes AI Try-On, which allows shoppers to upload their photos and visualise how outfits would look on them before making a purchase.

The system can also generate personalised styling suggestions based on browsing behaviour, shopping preferences, and items already added to the cart.

RHB Cardholders Can Enjoy Additional Discounts and Hotel Stay Rewards

Taobao Malaysia has also partnered with RHB Bank for additional campaign rewards.

From 10 to 20 June 2026, RHB cardholders can enjoy RM35 off with a minimum spend of RM250 when paying using eligible RHB cards.
