Samsung Electronics Unveils 14m Onyx Cinema LED Display at CinemaCon 2026

Samsung Electronics has introduced a new 14-meter Onyx Cinema LED display at CinemaCon 2026, expanding its premium cinema screen lineup for larger auditoriums.

🎬 Bigger screen for premium cinemas

The new 14m Onyx display is designed for Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters, offering a more immersive viewing experience with better seating optimisation and larger screen coverage.

It joins Samsung’s existing 5m and 10m models, targeting cinemas that want to upgrade to larger, high-end viewing formats.

🔑 Key features of Samsung Onyx Cinema LED

  • Supports up to 4K resolution at 120Hz
  • HDR brightness up to 300 nits (brighter than traditional projectors)
  • Infinite contrast ratio for deeper blacks
  • 100% colour volume for more vivid visuals
  • Flexible scaling up to 20 meters screen size

The display is also DCI-certified, supporting both standard cinema aspect ratios.

📈 Designed for more than just movies

Beyond film screenings, the Onyx Cinema LED can also be used for:

  • Live sports broadcasts
  • Concert screenings
  • Gaming events
  • Corporate presentations

Unlike traditional projection systems, the LED display maintains consistent brightness and clarity regardless of screen size or seating position.

🌍 Growing global adoption

Samsung continues expanding its presence in premium cinemas worldwide, with recent installations in locations such as:

  • Pathé cinemas in Morocco
  • Trilith Cinemas in the United States

🧠 Why this matters

As cinemas compete with home entertainment, larger and more immersive formats like Samsung’s Onyx LED displays are becoming a key differentiator for premium movie experiences.
