Redmi 15C launches in Malaysia with 6,000 mAh battery, slim design

Xiaomi on Tuesday unveiled the Redmi 15C, a budget-friendly smartphone aimed at users seeking long battery life, a large display, and durable design.

The device, now available across Malaysia, combines a 6,000 mAh battery, 6.9-inch display, and MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, positioning itself as an all-day device for work, entertainment, and everyday tasks.

Design and durability

At 7.99 mm thick and weighing 205 grams, the Redmi 15C offers a slim profile in four color options: Midnight Black, Mint Green, Moonlight Blue, and Twilight Orange. The device features a flat frame with quad-curved edges and IP64 dust and splash resistance.

It also includes Wet Touch Technology 2.0, allowing the screen to remain responsive even when users’ hands are wet, oily, or soapy.

Display and performance

The smartphone’s 6.9-inch Dot Drop display offers a 1,600 x 720 resolution with up to 500 nits of brightness. TÜV Rheinland certification ensures reduced blue light, flicker-free visuals, and circadian-friendly viewing for extended use.

Under the hood, the Redmi 15C runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra octa-core processor with support for up to 16 GB extended RAM and 256 GB storage. Expandable microSD storage is also supported.

Battery life is one of the phone’s key selling points: Xiaomi says the 6,000 mAh pack delivers up to 82 hours of music playback or 22 hours of video playback. The device supports 33W fast charging—half a charge in about 31 minutes—as well as reverse wired and wireless charging for accessories.

Features and connectivity

Security options include AI face unlock and a rear fingerprint sensor. The device retains staples such as a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and FM radio, alongside dual SIM capability, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHzconnectivity.

Camera system

The Redmi 15C carries a 50 MP AI dual rear camera with a 2 MP depth sensor and supports modes such as Night Mode, Portrait, HDR, and Time-Lapse. Video recording is available at 1080p/30 fps.

The 8 MP front camera includes HDR and portrait support for selfies and video calls.
