Nike is redefining what football culture means beyond the pitch with the launch of its latest global initiative, bringing together national teams, fashion collaborators, streetwear brands and community organisations in a campaign that celebrates football’s growing influence across sport, fashion and youth culture.
As football fans around the world gear up for one of the sport’s biggest global events this year, Nike is positioning itself at the centre of the conversation through a combination of performance innovation, lifestyle apparel and grassroots community engagement. The campaign highlights how football today extends far beyond matchday, influencing fashion trends, creative expression and local communities.
Central to the initiative is Nike’s new “X2” collection series, which sees seven national football federations collaborate with renowned designers, artists and community organisations to create limited-edition collections inspired by local culture and national identity. The collaborations include partnerships with well-known names such as NOCTA, Palace, Jacquemus, Patta, Slawn, PEACEMINUSONE and V.A.A. across countries including England, France, South Korea, Nigeria and the United States.
According to Nike, the collections are designed to sit at the intersection of football, fashion and creativity, reimagining traditional football apparel into streetwear-inspired pieces that can be worn both inside and outside the stadium.
The campaign also introduces new lifestyle footwear through Nike’s Cryoshots collection, which transforms iconic football boots into everyday fashion pieces. The designs incorporate classic Nike football silhouettes with transparent outsoles, allowing football-inspired footwear to transition from the pitch to the streets.
Beyond product launches, Nike is also investing in youth sports development through partnerships with local community organisations in each participating country. The company said the selected organisations will receive support as part of its long-term commitment to growing access to sport and creating future opportunities for young athletes.
The initiative comes as football continues to evolve into a global cultural movement, with brands increasingly looking beyond performance products to engage fans through fashion, entertainment and community-driven experiences. Recent campaigns from major sportswear brands have demonstrated how football culture now extends across social media, streetwear, music and lifestyle trends, particularly among younger audiences.
Nike’s X2 collections are scheduled to roll out globally beginning this month through selected retail partners, with special pre-match jerseys also set to be worn by participating national teams during friendly matches ahead of this year’s major football tournament.
