Experience the beauty of nature at one of the world’s oldest destinations here in Malaysia

Looking for your next adventurous getaway filled with breathtaking scenic views and beautiful nature? We suggest exploring one of the oldest rainforests in the world, Taman Negara, Pahang. Xiaomi recently partnered with Tourism Malaysia to bring you an experience of a lifetime, featuring walking trails, hikes, water activities and even cultural visits to nearby Orang Asli villages. Taman Negara is a great destination for anyone looking for an adventure – and you don’t even need to travel far!

Comfortably nestled in a 130 million years old virgin rainforest, nature lovers would definitely be in awe by the diverse floras and faunas found in Taman Negara – with more than 200 species of mammals, an estimated 479 species of birds, 150,000 species of insects and at least 280 species of plants per hectare welcoming visitors.

Indulge in an aerial view of the forest reserve by going on Taman Negara’s iconic Canopy Walkway, a 530 meters long and 40 meter above ground walking bridge surrounded by gigantic trees and faunas. You can also trek up Bukit Terisek, a trail that takes you through tall forest, secondary forest and scrub and ends at the top with a panoramic of lowlands, hills, and mountains – and on clear days you can even see Gunung Tahan. The 1.7 kilometer trail from Kuala Tahan is beginner-friendly and the best place to introduce you to Taman Negara.

Meanwhile, adrenaline junkies should definitely get on the thrilling Rapid Shooting ride. Rapid shooting is one of the best activities in Taman Negara – a thrilling and fun ride in a wooden boat which takes you through a series of rapids along Sungai Tembeling. This exciting and fun activity starts from Kuala Tahan jetty to Kuala Terengganu and back.

The Night Jungle Walk is the best way for you to observe and discover nocturnal species in Taman Negara. At night, the hide of the jungle comes alive. The walk starts from The Wildlife Office to Bumbun Tahan (Tahan Hide). From the hide, if you are lucky, you might get the chance to see wild animals coming to the salt lick for their mineral nutrient supplies – among those always spotted include reindeers,  tapirs, and wild boars.

Learn and explore the cultures of the Orang Asli in their settlement. See how the tribes live in remote areas, away from modernization. The settlements can be found alongside the trail and river. There are two ethnic groups of Orang Asli in Taman Negara, Batek and Semokberi.
